"We turn your scrolling into donations" is a nice slogan. This article is the un-slogan version: exactly how a dollar moves through Raiden, step by step.
Advertisers fund campaigns on Raiden. Their payments are real money, recorded as the first entry in that dollar's life on our ledger. Nothing downstream exists without this step — every cent Raiden gives started as an advertiser deciding to pay for attention.
As you use Raiden, clearly-labeled ads appear in your feed. Each time one is shown, that impression is tracked against your profile. No money moves to you — impressions are a record of where attention happened, and they matter in step 4.
Ad revenue for the week comes in, Raiden's operating costs come out, and what remains for charity forms that week's pot — a single transparent number you can see on our transparency page. One pot, once a week, for the whole network.
Every ISO week (Monday through Sunday), the pot is divided among participating profiles in proportion to each profile's share of that week's tracked ad impressions. A profile participates if it had impressions that week and has a giving split set — the percentage allocations you choose across up to 5 charities, summing to 100%, editable anytime.
Your slice of the pot is then split by your percentages and aggregated per charity. The arithmetic is exact — we compute in micro-precision integers with largest-remainder rounding, so the per-charity amounts add up to the pot to the last unit. No dust lost, none invented. Every week's run and its per-profile attributions are persisted, which is what the transparency page reads from.
Per-charity totals are disbursed through Every.org, a nonprofit that handles donations to more than a million U.S. 501(c)(3) organizations by their IRS EIN. One honest caveat: we're in the founding preview right now, so weekly runs are projections — they show exactly what the model would direct to each charity, but no real money has moved yet. When giving goes live, the same numbers you've been watching become real payouts, each recorded with a reference on the ledger.
We don't sell your personal data. Money never flows to users — there is nothing to withdraw, because the path only runs advertiser → pot → charity. We don't show ads in your private messages. And we don't publish impact numbers we can't back with ledger entries.
That's the whole machine. No magic — just plumbing that points somewhere good.
